Let’s get it started. Every super bowl comes with parties that take place in living rooms across America, with ample displays of adult beverages (beer is common) and traditional snacks like chicken-wings and guacamole. But this year Houston is kicking up the temperature a bit on the definition of Super Bowl party.
The A-Listers have come to town, and they want to par-tay!
Wednesday night’s “Luminaries of the Game” Kick Off party was hosted by NFL Network's Mike Silver, Fox Sports Charissa Thompson, and ESPN's Jeff Darlington, with a Pro-Bowler at each table, and organizer Jen Beaver says among the party goers were big names like Richard Sherman, a Seattle Seahawks Pro Bowler; Erin Andrews, Fox Sports / Dancing with the Stars; Ray Lewis, Pro Bowler and former Baltimore Raven; Michael Strahan, NFL Hall of Fame; Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys; Warren Moon, NFL Hall of Fame; Rob Gronkowski, New England Patriots, Pro Bowler; Brian Crushing, Houston Texans; and Falcons Cheerleaders.
Everyone in Houston is waiting for their brush with celebrities as some of the top names in sports and entertainment descends on the Bayou City. Among the top places you may want to hang out if you are hoping to see a star are The Breakfast Klub, Spire Houston, Dirt Bar, the Galleria, Discovery Green (everyone is going to be there at some point!) , Hotel ZaZa, the Four Seasons and St. Regis Hotels. Headline concerts include Discovery Green’s Super Bowl Experience and Club Nomadic, which will feature Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift.
Beaver says there are plenty more parties, and chances to rub elbows with celebrities in the days ahead. “Of course EA Sports is always the typical Thursday party, the Maxim Magazine party, the Playboy party, Leather and Laces, ESPN the Magazine has their Next party on Friday,” she says. Our friends at Houstonia Magazine have compiled a comprehensive list of parties and related events here.
