The Super Bowl at NRG Stadium will certainly have everyone talking about what’s going on inside the stadium. They may be talking about what might happen outside NRG as well.
We've seen protests over the last week in Houston over President Trump, and they are expecting more today. Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo told KTRH's Matt Patrick they are ready.
“If it’s going to be at the Super Bowl itself we’ve got some identified protest areas outside of the perimeter. We will facilitate their rights while at the same time keeping the community safe,” Acevedo explained
Political analyst Chris Begala says Houston will come out smelling like a rose.
“The protests are part of it. I don’t think it will shine a bad light at all on Houston,” Begala stated, adding that when you host one of the biggest sporting events in the world, protests are to be expected.
