RUGRATS may have been one of the most beloved cartoons in the 90's. It's almost hard to believe Nickelodeon had a past of actual programming, not just reruns of Spongebob. But back in the day, Nickelodeon was a force to be messed with; All That, Doug, Aah Real Monsters!, Rocko's Modern Life, you name it!
Now 90s kids can relive their childhood with the launch of Paramount+, a new streaming collective that will give subscribers access to the legendary Viacom shows that have been collecting dust in the vault. MTV announced Yo! MTV Raps, old seasons of Real World, The Challenge and more.
But what some fans aren't excited for, a reboot of Rugrats, this time in CGI.
Just like Disney rebooting their popular cartoon series, Proud Family, Nickelodeon will reboot Rugrats with an appearance from the gang for the first time since the short lived "All Grown Up" series and movies.
Oh, but Paramount Plus hasn't stopped there, we're getting Paranormal Activity? This may be the only streaming service able to even hold a candle to the giant, Netflix.
Paramount Plus, if you're new here - will be the upgraded version of CBS All Access. All they offer will be available to stream on March 4th. The difference in this streaming service, is a conglomerate of popular OG shows from the 90's that haven't been aired on television in over 20-30 years.
So what's the price point you ask? And is there a free trial period, which we're oh so accustomed to?
According to Variety, the base ad-supported version, launching in June will cost $4.99 per month.
The full premium tier version with no ads will cost $9.99 per month.
The joint effort from ViacomCBS will launch over 20,000 hours of programming from popular networks; BET, CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures. Check out a full list of networks, on their website here.
