I had the pleasure of sitting down with this LADY MC Sam1 to talk music, how she got started and where she's going.

Samone Scott, better known by her stage name $am1 is a talented female artist from Long Beach, Ca that has found her home in Houston since 2014. She was born October 19, 1993 as the oldest of 3 girls. Being the oldest she feels like she always has to set an example. She is known for her entrepreneurship with her self founded company, Rare Dreams Entertainment. Since she has started taken music seriously she is constantly growing as a songwriter, promoter, performer, and overall artist. Sam was born with Sickle cell Anemia a predominantly African American disease that effects the red blood cells causing major pain and other life threatening harm to the body. However she doesn't let people for sorry her, she likes to think of herself as a fighter who uses it as motivation. She knows she has to work twice as hard as everyone else. Over the years, during her many hospital visits is where she first turned to music to express herself and wrote her first rap at 8. $am1 pushed harder to make herself known, rapping at school and all around her city. She loves to give back to the community and help others as much as possible because she knows what it's like to be in need and effected by your environment. Sam invested her own brand and travels Texas, California and other states doing big shows and hosting. Her major influences are Lauryn Hill, 2pac, J cole and pretty much any West Coast rapper. $am1 is an open minded person who considers her music to be versatile, but also wants to be known for bringing back real music. She is best known for her hot freestyles and fire video, "Relay" Her first mixtape "The Chosen One" got a lot of buzz which will soon be followed by a sponsored online project. She has been gaining respect all over Houston, hanging out and performing with big time legends. $am1 plans to make her mark on the music industry and says that with her faith in God and the help of her fans she is excited for the future.
