Governor Greg Abbott announced in a press conference on Tuesday that he will be allowing hair salons, barbershops, tanning salons to reopen this Friday in Texas, May 8th, as well as public pools.
There are still restrictions in place to ensure social distancing, such as shops can only be occupied to 25% capacity and frequent necessary sterilization between clients.
Gyms can open May 18, but if the owner feels they are not ready, they do not have to. If they do choose to open, they must keep showers and locker rooms closed.
Also, as Abbott announced, weddings may begin again - but if they are held inside, such as in a church, they can only be full up to 1/4, 25% capacity.
So the question is, in this first round of reopening - are you going to patron these businesses? Or are you more comfortable to wait awhile?
