President Donald Trump has launched an attack against another longtime CBS personality.
On Monday (August 4), Trump slammed CBS Mornings host Gayle King, calling her âno talentâ and claiming that her âcareer is over," per The Hill.
âGayle Kingâs career is over. She should have stayed with her belief in TRUMP. She never had the courage to do so,â Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. âNo talent, no ratings, no strength.â
The president also shared a link to a New York Post article that claimed Kingâs future at CBS is âmurkyâ due to poor ratings and the show being too âwoke.â
Trumpâs attack on King comes after he took aim at her fellow CBS colleague and late-night host Stephen Colbert, whose show was ultimately canceled.
This week, CBS, owned by Paramount, is expected to close a mega merger with fellow conglomerate Skydance. Trumpâs Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved the merger after the company pledged to include more diverse viewpoints in its news coverage and end its diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.
Paramount also agreed to pay Trump $16 million to settle his lawsuit against CBS over its 60 Minutes interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris. Many believe the cancellation of Colbertâs show also factored into the mergerâs approval.
