J. Cole has finally addressed the status of his other long-awaited album and answered the dire question about his alleged retirement.

On Monday night, February 9, the Dreamville co-founder hosted an "AMA" session on his Inevitable website where he answered numerous questions from loyal fans. In response to one fan's question, Cole revealed that he's "not interested" in making "J. Cole" albums, which may make The Fall-Off the rapper's final album. Instead of dropping full-length projects, he said plans to focus his musical genius on producing.

"I got a geniuine love for music, ans the blessing in dropping this album is that I'm highly inspired," he began.

"I have no interest in making more 'J. Cole' albums, but my passion and excitement right now is in producing," he continued. "I will write, I will record when it hits me. Release new music if the spirit says to do so. But The Fall-Off is a project I won't try to top."

There is one project that Cole still plans to release. It's A Boy is a mixtape that the 41-year-old artist has been teasing for the past six years. He originally planned to drop it before The Fall-Off, however, fans received his four-track EP Birthday Blizzard '26 instead. A fan asked if It's A Boy was scrapped during the AMA and Cole gave him the update fans have been waiting on.

"No it's not scrapped," he replied. "It will release. We almost put it out before the album. but with the birthday blizzard tape and 24 song album we was like it's a lot of music to process."

Fans also received answers to other burning questions during the AMA. Someone asked about the making of The Fall-Off including what song was created first. Cole revealed that "Legacy" was the first track. One fan wondered if Cole planned to create a second season his his Inevitable podcast series, and Cole said "that's the plan." Another fan even asked about the future of Cole's Dreamer Indie 5000 sneakers, which Cole was spotted wearing following the end of his partnership with Puma. Cole said that the shoes are ready to go and will go up for sale soon.
