Living life in quarantine, having seen almost everything on Netflix - I was surprised to find a new series, "black AF" in Netflix "New" category over the weekend.
I saw a few trailers running around on Twitter and recognized Kenya Barris (Black-ish) and Rashida Jones in the preview, so I decided to embark on a series binge.
The first episode or two were pretty non-eventful for me, but after seeing some of my friends reviews on Twitter I decided to keep going. Then we get to the episode where the parents find their teenage daughter at a festival, while they're under the influence -- and that's when the funny kicked in, in my opinion.
Then, as I was in the middle of the series it started trending on Twitter for a line defining set of reasons.
There are a vast majority of reasons WHY some people don't like it -- but just as many counter arguments why others thought it was funny. I finished the season and thought it had some really funny AND educational / self reflecting moments. Have you seen it? What do you think? Or, will you watch it?
