Drake, The Weeknd & Silk Sonic All Bow out of Grammy Submissions
We haven't even gotten to the 2023 Grammy nominations, and the drama has already unfolded. Aside from the Nicki Minaj and Latto Twitter spat, the men of hip hop & R&B are also standing on bowing out of Grammy noms.
Bruno Mars and Anderson. paak released the following statement, “We’d be crazy to ask for anything more. Andy and I, and everyone that worked on this project, won the moment the world responded to ‘Leave The Door Open.’ Everything else was just icing on the cake,” he continued. “We thank the Grammys for allowing us to perform on their platform — not once but twice — and awarding us at last year’s ceremony.”
Now, for the second year running; fellow Canadians, Drake and The Weeknd are boycotting the Grammy's, by not submitting either of their projects or attending. Both musicians have declined to take part in the awards, after The Weeknd was snubbed for his 2021 album "After Hours," which featured the chart topper "Blinding Lights."
