Drake Hits His Impersonator with Cease & Desist
Nowadays, it seems you haven't made it as a rapper - until you have a clone, or a doppelganger. And that is exactly what Drake and Durk, most famously have. In Drake's case, his clone, "Izzy Drake," has been served a cease and desist from Drake himself and OVO Sound to cease his impersonations of theToronto rapper, using his likeness to build the "Izzy Drake" brand.
The letter was shared earlier this month, but the Drake wannabe shared on his social media just this week.
The letter includes the following:
“Dear IzzyyDrake, this letter serves as a notice of your unauthorized use of the trademark, ‘OVO’ to promote your brand and likeness, as well as your unauthorized fabrication of media which is Per Se damaging and defamatory to our brand. Your conducted actions are unwarranted, unwelcome, and unacceptable. In addition, this shall serve as a pre-suit letter demanding that you provide us written assurance within 7 days that you will cease and desist from making any further factually untrue statements involving OVO Sound and/or Drake, and that you will no longer fabricate media that portrays the aforementioned Trademarks. Thank you for your cooperation.”
