Jason Shells, A New York artist is showing Houston Rappers major love with these purple signs through out the city. The signs have lyrics from our Houston rappers who rapped about certain areas or landmarks in Htown. For example there’s one on Scott Street at Yellowstone featuring lines from Big Pokey, there is also the purple sign with Bun B lyrics..."chrome looking more glassy than the Transco tower” and yes that sign is at the Transco Tower!
This is pretty dope! I hope you saw the signs over Labor Day weekend. Some signs have been taken down since this is technically illegal, however this is art and the rumor is the City of Houston plans to work with this NY artist for more art displays. So why the color purple...I'm thinking syrup, purple let's be real purple stuff..lol!
