It's Black History Month and Bath & Body Works launched the first limited-edition Black History Month collection. I was there on Sunday at Bath & Body Works and didn't see the collection, I might have to go back and exchange some items for this collection.
The line features candles, lotions, and fragrance mist. The line is also designed in the traditional art of African mud cloth, according to William Bernard, vp of design.
I went on the website to see the collection and saw that each item has a word that reflects self-acceptance, such as unity, strong, confident, and empowered. Some people on social media are upset with this new collection and some are here for the collection. The Bath & Body Works Foundation is contributing a total of $500,000 to the National Urban League and Columbus Urban League. Also, a group of Black associates, leaders and partners from the company were part of the creation.
My thoughts: Maybe they should have carried some black owned brands.
