Dad calls middle school 'inappropriate' for asking kids to dress based on relationship status
A "spirit week" theme day in Louisiana is raising the eyebrows of some parents.
Iowa Middle and High School, which share a campus, are sharing a spirit week this week and Monday's theme was "stoplight day."
Students were told to wear green, yellow, or red to signify their relationship status. Green meant single, yellow meant “it’s complicated” and red indicated you were taken.
“Kids should be kids. Sure, some middle school kids are going to have boyfriends and girlfriends and crushes, but I don’t think we need the school to play matchmaker for a 10 to 14-year-old,” says a students parent. “Middle school kids are in an extremely vulnerable state—dealing with peer pressure, making friends, typical school stresses." Parents what do you think!?
