Future giving away Covid-19 Scholarships for College Freshmen

Finally some POSITIVE NEWS!!! S/O to Future!!!

Atlanta-based rapper Future has announced that he will be awarding scholarships to incoming college freshmen through his FreeWishes Foundation. The new initiative, dubbed “I’m Still a Dreamer,” is applicable to those who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in Georgia.

“You don’t have to be in the perfect situation or come from the perfect background to reach for your dreams. Despite this COVID-19 pandemic, I encourage all dreamers to continue to dream big,” said Future in a press statement.

In order to secure a scholarship, applicants who are high school graduates must submit a video describing how coronavirus has personally affected their lives. They must also have a minimum 3.00-grade point average, live in the state of Georgia, and be currently enrolled in an accredited college for fall 2020.

Successful applicants will be awarded up to $2,500 USD in scholarship funding. The FreeWishes Foundation was made by Future, his mother Stephanie Jester, and sister Tia Wilburn-Anderson with the aim to transform the lives of those who lived in the metro Atlanta area. “We acknowledge that many families have been financially impacted by COVID-19. As we fast forward into this new climate we would like to continue to make dreams come alive and wishes come true,” said Jester.

If you are hoping to secure a scholarship, submit your application online before July 27 at 3 p.m. EST. Winners will be announced on August 4.
