FYI........The day is named after the city's oldest area code. It was established back in 1947. It was Houston's only area code until 1996. I would say in the last 10 years, it had gotten more popular, due to "Lil Keke" paying homage to "713 day", so I. would say he is the creator :) Anyhoot, do something "Houston " this Thursday!
