Nearly 80 kids sent home sick from Humble school

KINGWOOD, Texas - Seventy eight children were absent on Wednesday and more were sent home from a Humble ISD elementary school after getting sick.

The principal of the Woodland Hills Elementary School, Debi Beard, sent out a letter to parents on Wednesday.

In the letter, Beard said the common symptoms were vomiting and diarrhea.

As a precaution, Humble ISD custodial services sanitized the school and will conduct another thorough cleaning Wednesday evening.

The Harris County Health Department was also contacted as a precaution.
