Another one gets away with murder of a black man. A jury has acquitted Tulsa police Officer Betty Jo Shelby, who killed unarmed motorist Terence Crutcher in an encounter that was captured on video by a police helicopter last September. This case in Oklahoma shocked many because how Officer Shelby overreacted when she shot and killed Terence. The jury took hours to deliberate Wednesday and the verdict devastated the Crutcher family.
"Betty Shelby murdered my brother," Tiffany Crutcher, center, said after officer Shelby was acquitted in the death of Terence Crutcher.
"Let it be known that I believe in my heart that Betty Shelby got away with murder, and I don't know what was in the mind of that jury," Crutcher's father, Joseph, told reporters.
Like all other racially profiled stories Officer Shelby said she feared for her life and thought this black man was getting a gun. Crutcher had his hands up as he walked away. Sad results to face again and again and again!
