Traffic could be getting better for us, Houston.
According to the Houston Chronicle, Texas transportation officials are moving forward with a plan to demolish the elevated portion of I-45 near Pierce Street and shift the interstate to the east side of downtown.
The project is part of a $1 billion state investment into Houston, where three major transportation projects will reconfigure some of city's most important highways: I-45, I-69 and Interstate 10.
Construction is set for late 2020 or early 2021.
