Mayor Sylvester Turner is not turning the other way in dealing with hate groups. According to ABC13, Turner said when it comes to hate groups, this is not the time for local leaders to mince words. His remarks came just after police stated that a 20 year old man killed a woman and injured 19 others as he rammed his car into protestors at a white nationalist rally in Virgina.
"Now is the time more than ever, now is the time, especially as leaders at our level to draw a red line," Turner said. "When it comes to Nazi groups, white supremacist, and white nationalism... we cannot be ambiguous."
We need more leaders like our very own Mayor in Houston to stand up against this hate and make everyone accountable.
